Context

Korean Air has opened a bold new chapter with a sweeping rebrand designed to elevate the passenger experience at every touchpoint. As part of this transformation, the airline has partnered with some of the world’s leading luxury brands to bring greater comfort and refinement to the journey. The redesigned cabin interiors draw inspiration from traditional Korean motifs such as Jogakbo and Hanbok, reimagined through a modern lens to evoke timeless sophistication. In First and Prestige Class, premium bedding from Italian house Frette offers a sleep experience worthy of the finest hotels. Meanwhile, amenity kits created in collaboration with Graff provide travelers with a moment of quiet indulgence mid-flight. These partnerships represent a thoughtful blend of craftsmanship and Korean Air’s enduring focus on customer care.

Challenge

We faced the physical challenge of capturing production sites and key figures from partner companies scattered across Europe within limited time. We needed to visually implement each brand's unique craftsmanship and philosophy while delivering a coherent narrative of how they harmonize with Korean Air's vision. Creative solutions were required to capture the authenticity and details of the production process despite strict brand guidelines and filming restrictions of luxury brands. Additionally, effectively visualizing how these premium elements integrate within the limited space of an aircraft cabin to enhance passenger experience was a crucial challenge.

Solution

We adopted a cinematic approach tracking the journey of products born from craftsmen's fingertips while touring each brand's ateliers and orkshops. Through near-perfect pre-production, we established a sophisticated schedule to complete all filming in a single European trip. At each location, we created visual connectivity by metaphorically placing Korean Air's new CI elements while respecting each brand's unique visual language. We emphasized material texture and craftsmanship through detail shots using macro lenses and captured the passion and vision of experts in each field through interviews. Finally, by visualizing the process of all these elements integrating in the aircraft cabin through the metaphor of orchestral harmony, we simultaneously conveyed the excellence of individual elements and the harmony of the overall experience.
