Context
For over 50 years, Doosan Mottrol has built its technological foundation in hydraulics for construction and industrial machinery. Following its recent rebranding and CI update, there was a clear need to communicate the company’s technological direction beyond a hydraulics-centered image—toward electrification and high-efficiency systems based on HPM technology. This brand film was planned primarily for external communication, including global exhibitions, while also serving as a long-term, reusable flagship promotional asset. A key objective was to move beyond the existing excavator-focused perception and clearly present Doosan Mottrol’s expansion into diverse applications, new electrified products, and future technologies within a single film.
Challenge
The challenge of this project was to make Doosan Mottrol’s technological evolution clearly understandable within one film. Its accumulated hydraulic expertise, current factory operations and automation systems, and future-facing electrification technologies each required different types of information and visual approaches. Rather than explaining the technology in detail, our aim was to structure the film so that viewers could naturally understand what Doosan Mottrol has built in the past, what it is producing today, and what it is preparing for next. Based on the client-defined yesterday–today–tomorrow framework, we needed to realize each phase through the most appropriate method and connect them into a coherent flow.
Solution
For the past, authentic archival materials and photographs were used to concisely present Doosan Mottrol’s accumulated expertise, quality standards, and manufacturing competitiveness as a hydraulics specialist. For the present, we filmed on site at Doosan Mottrol’s facilities to capture real production processes and automated environments. Assembly and testing of hydraulic systems, automated lines, and the operation of smart equipment such as robots and AGVs demonstrated that advanced technologies are actively applied in real industrial settings. At the same time, applications expanded across construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and industrial machinery were visually organized. For the future, electrification systems that are difficult to convey through live action alone were visualized through 3D and CG compositing. Core technologies essential to electrified equipment were clearly presented, underscoring Doosan Mottrol’s readiness for the future. This approach positions Doosan Mottrol not as a component manufacturer, but as a company providing technology solutions across a wide range of industries.
